Me: Actually, she’s kind of clever about it. And she’s fat, so it’s funny.
Co-Worker leaves.

Every year, I do some variation on a New Year’s resolution and usually I get a fair measure of them done, but never enough. I was late to work before the holidays and cabbing it. I started complaining about not being able to do everything I wanted and the cabbie told me I was trying too hard. “50%, that’s the best any of us can hope for. Get 50% done and you’ll be happy.” He’s probably right, but Americans don’t really have this kind of common sense.
Still, the idea of creating another list of must-do’s for a new year seemed daunting, ’til I stumbled across this great Lifehacker post suggesting you choose just 12 habits you want to add- and you focus on one a month.
